Off the Record - Ryan Trebon

I ran into Ryan “much taller than I expected in real life” Trebon while filming for Pedro’s at this year’s Sea Otter Classic.

I actually had to hold the camera well above my head.

Here are some of Ryan’s thoughts on combining MTB with CX, his new team, and his season’s goals.

Sea Otter Highlight Reel

As you already know, I joined Pedro’s at the Sea Otter Classic in April to capture some footage for them.

Here is a highlight reel of the riders and racing we saw (and filmed) with some extra editing flavor.

Disclaimer: Not all the featured riders use or are supported by Pedro’s, which makes them, for lack of a better word, dummies.

Sea Otter Recap

Pedro’s, the Plus 3 Network (more on these guys later), and the volunteers from the Naval Postgraduate Academy, washed a lot of bikes over the weekend to benefit the Semper Fi Fund.

I was really surprised at how big the Sea Otter Classic really was. Aside from all the racing - Downhill, Dual Slalom, Road Races, Criteriums, Circuit Races, Cross Country, and Short Track, there were also two separate pump tracks and a trick area.

The EXPO area was massive and it was a great opportunity to meet with all the industry leaders to see what they were promoting this season (watch out for what GoPro® has up their sleeves).

This video captures a lot of what I saw over the weekend as I followed Matt Simpson and the Pedro’s crew around the event. What it doesn’t capture is the ridiculous sunburn I achieved by wearing no sunblock for an entire day.

Sea Otter Starbucks

Day one of the Pedro’s Sea Otter Project.

Matt Simpson and I appear to both be early risers, even when it’s lights out only four hours earlier.

That said, we both drink coffee. So the first order of the day was a coffee stop.

The employees at this Starbucks appear to be fans of this BLOG.
